Another watermelon fan

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Some of you may remember Joshua’s first experience with watermelon at his Aunt Holly’s 4th of July cookout.  It’s been his favorite fruit ever since!

Well, Julia is really big on all food these days, and the best food is whatever Mommy or Daddy has on their plate.  Since all the grocery stores have had them on sale, we’ve been buying a lot of watermelons lately.  Who can resist a yummy, juicy watermelon?  Not Julia!

She just gets so impatient!  You can almost hear her say, “Daddy, hurry up!”

A day at the fair

Saturday, August 21st, 2010

We sat around this morning asking ourselves what we should do with our day.  Jason saw that the Fair was in town in Columbia, so we packed up and went!  The Fair in Maury County isn’t big, but it’s got plenty of things to entertain a 3-year-old boy.  We bought just a handful of tickets, and let him pick out what he wanted to ride.  We knew we couldn’t stay long because it was just so HOT.  First thing, he rode the big Dragon roller coaster!  He loved this ride sooo much, he rode it 3 times!

Then, we found a little spot in the  corner for babies.  They had a nice tent for little people to cool off and play in the shade.  We let Julia out to play on the little playset.  Poor thing, she spent most of the time at the fair in the stroller, but she did like watching Joshua.

After we left the kiddie tent, Joshua headed straight for the train ride.  If you ask him, he’ll say this was his favorite.  He got to sit in the front and “drive.”  After the train, Joshua rode the car ride.

After the cars, Joshua had a big decision to make…there were 3 rides left to choose from, and only enough tickets for one.  Joshua chose the swing ride.  I think he enjoyed it, it just wasn’t that exciting.

As we left the midway, there were 2 little ponies just begging for someone to ride them.  We asked Joshua if he wanted to take a ride, and he did.  The man running the pony rides was really nice, and let Joshua ride for a very long time (there was no one else there – Joshua had almost every ride to himself).  I think if Joshua hadn’t decided on his own that he was done riding, there’s no telling how long he could have stayed!

Like I said, the man who owned the ponies was really nice.  When Joshua was done riding, he let us set Julia up on the pony for a picture.

We had a great day out at the fair!  We all pretty much crashed when we got home…or, on the way home.

Cute kids

Just a couple pictures of my sweethearts being adorable.  No doubt 3 seconds after the picture they were into some kind of mischief.  Side note, Julia’s learned how to shake her head “no.”  She thinks it hilarious!  Well, we think it’s pretty cute too…for now.  :)   I can remember thinking it was so cute when Joshua started doing the same thing.  Now, we’re trying to remove “no” from his vocabulary…

Two for tub, and tub for two!

Saturday, August 21st, 2010

Why haven’t we done this before???  Joshua has rediscovered bubbles baths since we’ve been at Nana and Papa’s house.  Julia had never had a bubble bath, and I thought she should try it out.  So, I threw them in together!  I put them both in the big tub thinking that Julia was big enough to handle it, I mean, she’s walking, right?  Not so much.  She wasn’t a fan of the big tub, so we put her baby tub in the big tub with Joshua and filled it up with water and bubbles.  She’s much happier with this arrangement.  I love to see them play – and get clean!

Walking videos!

Saturday, August 21st, 2010

So, we ended up getting a YouTube account so that we could put video up.  It’s actually pretty great…we have LOTS of videos from today especially to post.  :)   More on that later.  Here are a couple of videos of our precious girl walking!  She’s such a pro at it now.  Even though this was just a week ago, it’s amazing how much more steady she is on her feet.

Hope you guys enjoy these! She’s growing so fast!
