We had a great Dr. visit today for Julia. She’s a whopping 17lbs 3 oz, and she’s measuring in at 24 3/4 inches. That puts her at above 95th percentile for weight (shocker) and 50-75th percentile for length. She’s still our precious little chunk! Besides weight and length, she’s doing everything a little 4-month old should be doing. She got 3 more shots and one oral vaccine. Yuck. She’ll probably feel a little icky tomorrow, and hopefully that will be the worst of it.

Well, it’s been snowy and yucky and just plain cold. So, we haven’t gotten out much at all. I decided that today was the day to bundle up and run outside. Here are the kids enjoying the freezing winter temps… It’s possible that this was just an excuse to put Julia in her little Eskimo suit and take her picture.

Julia received her first Bible at church last night. A couple of times a year, we have a special service at church for all the families that have new babies. Each family walks to the front to get their Bible, the congregation promises to support the families as they raise their kids, and the elders pray over the new babies. Last night was Julia’s turn (along with about 20 other little babies).

I don’t have any pictures from Joshua’s Bible presentation, but we made sure to take the camera last night. Julia was a big hit. Jason carried her and she just made eyes at the whole audience and smiled all the way down the aisle. Joshua was a good big brother and walked nicely down the aisle and took Julia’s Bible from Mr. Walt and held it for her. We did bribe him with a new toy if he was good and quiet for the whole presentation.

This past Saturday we went down to M’Boro to celebrate Pa Joe’s birthday! I won’t reveal how old he is, but he certainly doesn’t look his age! Mom made a yummy dinner, and Joanna and Kevin came too. Jossy and Joe were snowed in this weekend. Julia wore her special Grandma outfit. It says “Goin’ to Grandma’s.” I’m also trying to get better at putting bows in her hair.

After dinner, we opened presents around the Valentines tree. Mom found heart lights at the store and put them up on the tree. Very festive! Joshua thinks that any opening of presents must involve him in some way, and Pa Joe didn’t mind to let him help.

We got Pa Joe a poster of the Steam Engines of the World. Joshua likes to look at it and figure out which ones look like his favorite Thomas engines.

We had lots of fun! Happy Birthday, Pa Joe!

Wow! Four months already! She’s getting so big and so wiggly, that it was really hard to get her to be still for a picture. She’s talking all the time now. She will do tummy time for longer (though she still doesn’t care for it). She’s even rolled over twice! I’m hoping she’ll do some more rolling, but for now she seems happy to roll up on one side without going the rest of the way.

Joshua seems to be enjoying her more these days. I’ll put her in her Bumbo seat, and we’ll sit and play on the floor with him. Julia loves to watch him do anything, and she giggles at him when he talks to her. I think he’s figuring out that this little sister stuff really means one more person to pay attention to him. We go Wednesday to the pediatrician for her 4-month checkup and shots. We’ll have weight and length then. I can’t even guess – I just know she’s getting heavy!

Jason has a handy lap desk that he uses when he’s downstairs working on his laptop. Joshua wanted to do some work too, so Jason set him up with some paper and crayons at the desk. He worked so hard!
